A Great Article Worth Posting

A really good summary of how Nobama & his ilk are ruining the country. This came from realclearpolitics.com today. By Arnold Ahlert

Unless something totally unforeseen occurs, Democrats are poised to take a real beating in November. Their response to the impending disaster has run the gamut. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is in denial: "One thing I know for sure is that Democrats will retain their majority in the House of Representatives." Massachusetts Senator John Kerry is condescending: "We have an electorate that doesn't always pay that much attention to what's going on, so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what's happening." President Obama is angry: "It is inexcusable for any Democrat or progressive right now to stand on the sidelines in this midterm election." Why is the electorate ready to kick Democrats to the curb? Here's why:

* An "unstimulated" economy. The original Mother of All Stimulus packages, $787 billion dollars, quickly grew to an astounding $865 billion. It wasn't enough. Congress pumped out another $26 billion in "supplemental" stimulus in August. The results? Unemployment in the private sector remains well above the eight percent Democrats promised, even as public sector workers who support Democrats were rewarded; our Democratically-controlled Congress has amassed more debt in the last four years than nearly the previous two hundred and thirty combined; the Keynesian economic model Democrats stand by is a colossal failure; the Summer of Recovery was a propaganda fiasco.

* The health care bill. The absolute epitome of ideological, public-be-damned arrogance. A horrendous compendium of bribes, exploding bureaucracy, runaway costs, written in secret and unread by those who passed it. It includes a mandate, likely un-Constitutional, forcing people to buy health insurance or pay a fine. The same administration which originally claimed the commerce clause of the Constitution made such a fine possible is now saying that the federal governments's "power to tax" justifies it. Irrelevant. 60% of Americans want this monstrosity repealed, ASAP.

* The federal lawsuit against the state of Arizona. Again, it's the arrogance, stupid. Despite all the hectoring from Democrats and the Obama administration about racist this, and xenophobic that, fair-minded Americans recognized four things: people have a right to protect their life and property, and if the federal government can't or won't do it, they have a right to do it themselves; the idea that anyone opposing the "rights" of illegal aliens is a bigot is nonsense on stilts; the ruling class in Washington, D.C. is holding genuine border control hostage to "comprehensive reform;" the glaring double-standard of suing Arizona for violating federal immigration statues, even as the feds turn a blind eye to hundreds of "sanctuary cities" with illegal protection directives unquestionably in conflict with federal law.

* The demonization of the Tea Party movement. Take your pick: teabaggers, racists, angry white men, fringe elements, bigots, Astro-turfers, etc. etc. Democrats and the media have tried every one, and every one has been a miserable failure for one overwhelmingly simple reason: decent Americans know they're decent, and getting insulted by Democrats running the country into the ground has only stiffened their resolve. Progressives want to demonize people who believe in smaller government, fiscal responsibility and a desire to return to Constitutional principles? Why not attack people who believe in guns, and religion too? Oh wait. The president already did that as well.

* A hopelessly compromised media. Air America tanked, CNN is tanking, and ABC, NBC and CBS news programs have been shedding viewers at historically unprecedented rates-even as Fox and the Wall Street Journal prosper. Americans don't mind people in the media expressing their opinions, as long as they're characterized as opinions, but they seethe when such opinions are portrayed as "hard news." They get even angrier when certain stories are "omitted" by those same organizations, especially when Americans recognize such omissions are calculated to protect the progressive agenda. I wonder if it occurs to either Democrats or their media water-carriers that a majority Americans may savor whacking both groups in November. Depressed looks on the faces of Nancy Pelosi and Katie Couric? In theater circles, that's known as a "two-fer."

* The Ground Zero mosque. Yet another reminder of the contempt progressives and their media enablers have for ordinary Americans who had the "temerity" to allow their feelings to be known. Despite every attempt to characterize these Americans as Islamo-phobic bigots, the public wasn't buying, again for one overwhelmingly simple reason: decent Americans once again demonstrated their decency by separating the legality of the project from the appropriateness of it.

* The complete disconnect between the First Family and ordinary Americans. The golfing, the soirees, and the high-priced vacations have created the perception that we are living through another "let them eat cake" moment in history. On Tuesday, the president called the public schools in Washington, D.C. a "'struggling' system that doesn't measure up to the needs of first daughters, Sasha and Malia." Those would be the same public schools Congressional Democrats tossed 3,300 low-income kids back into when they killed funding for vouchers that had freed those kids from D.C.'s educational ghetto. The First Lady is hectoring Americans to eat healthier. Perhaps more Americans would if they could afford to: the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) stated in their Producer Price Index that the price of food increased 2.4% for March 2010. That's the biggest increase in almost 30 years.

* The war on terror. A politically correct contingency operation against unnamed insurgents with a specific draw-down date? Democrats once again prove that all the talk about Afghanistan being the "good war" was complete rubbish. They want out, and victory-along with the heroic efforts of our men and women in harm's way-be damned. Once again: has America ever fought another war where they knew the exact location of the enemy, had the ability to inflict possibly irreparable damage on them-and decided to split the difference instead? If you answered "Vietnam," another progressively-instigated catastrophe resulting in the deaths of fifty-eight thousand American soldiers and three million innocent Asians, go to the head of the class. And when is that civilian trial of the 9/11 perpetrators scheduled to begin?

* Czars and nationalization. The Obama administration and Congressional Democrats may bristle when Americans call them socialists, but the nationalization of banks, car and insurance companies, student loans and healthcare sure isn't free-market capitalism. Neither is wiping out oil jobs in Louisiana with a government-mandated ban on offshore drilling-after the feds completely bungled their role in cleaning up the spill which engendered it. Unelected czars who answer to no one but the president, along with out-of-control government agencies such as the EPA have made it clear to many Americans that this administration often considers Congress a completely unnecessary component of governance, especially if they don't kowtow to the president's agenda.

* "Unexceptional" America. Progressive contempt for the values and traditions which make this the greatest country on earth can no longer be disguised. An American president who "believe(s) in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism" has made it plain that this is not a great nation which needs tweaking, but a fundamentally flawed one needing a complete progressive make-over. Once one understands this basic premise, everything this administration and Democratically-controlled Congress does makes sense. All of it centers around the ridiculous premise that America owes the world an apology for any number of shortcomings, many of which can only be alleviated by government-mandated "social justice." That would be the same social justice which demanded-and still demands-that Americans manifestly unqualified to own homes be given mortgages, regardless.

Unknown to the majority of Americans, this precise mindset was part of the financial "reform" bill which also requires banks to lend a certain percentage of capital to minority-owned businesses, even if it means lowering their lending standards. Apparently progressives won't be satisfied with their odious social-engineering schemes until every sector of the American economy bears a striking resemblance to the housing sector. So far, Americans support financial reform because it's been framed as "Main Street versus "Wall Street." It's not. Like every other initiative undertaken by this Congress and this administration, it's the elevation of irresponsible and dishonest Americans over those willing to accept the consequences of their own behavior.

There you have it. Democratic control for four years in Congress, and two in the White House has been exactly what many predicted: an ideologically-driven disaster of epic proportions. For years, progressives obfuscated their true intentions, because even they knew most Americans couldn't stomach them. The elections of 2006 and 2008 changed everything. Progressives bought into their own hype, believing they had pulled off a multi-generational transformation of the American mindset. As a result, they showed Americans their true colors: unbridled arrogance, utter contempt for the average citizen's intellect, and a ham-fisted, never let a crisis go to waste determination to bend the electorate to their will, using government as a club.

That's why they're going down in November. And the most satisfying aspect of the whole scenario is this: despite every attempt they've made to blame anyone and everyone else for their problems, they brought it on themselves.

Update on the Black Panther Voter Intimidation Case

If you haven't seen this video from C-SPAN, you should. Yes, its over 3 hours long, but at least check out what part of it you can.  It clearly demonstrates the racism of the Nobama administration against whites.  The testimony is from Christopher Coates, former head of DoJ's Civil Rights Voting Division.  He's bravely putting his career and his future at risk by shedding light on the Black Panther case. Well worth your time. Here's the link:

The Great African Schlong Wash

You just can't make this stuff up.   You are paying for this.  I guess we know what's being stimulated with Nobama's stimulus bills (but only if you are uncircumcised).  I was reminded of Nobama's warning at the time that if we didn't pass the stimulus bill, the results would be catastrophic. Remember that?

Instead of just providing the link for this article, I decided to copy the full text:

Feds Spent $800,000 of Economic Stimulus on African Genital-Washing Program

The National Institute of Mental Health, a division of the National Institutes of Health, spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex.
Tuesday, September 07, 2010

(CNSNews.com) – The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex.

The genitalia-washing program is part of a larger $12-million UCLA study examining how to better encourage Africans to undergo voluntary HIV testing and counseling – however, only the penis-washing study received money from the 2009 economic stimulus law. The washing portion of the study is set to end in 2011.

“NIH Announces the Availability of Recovery Act Funds for Competitive Revision Applications,” the grant abstract states. “We propose to evaluate the feasibility of a post-coital genital hygiene study among men unwilling to be circumcised in Orange Farm, South Africa.”

Because AIDS researchers have been unsuccessful in convincing most adult African men to undergo circumcision, the UCLA study proposes to determine whether researchers can develop an after-sex genitalia-washing regimen that they can then convince uncircumcised African men to follow.

“The aim of the proposed feasibility study is to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a post-coital male genital hygiene procedure, which participants will be asked to practice immediately post-coitus or at least 12 hours after,” reads the abstract.

Entitled “Community-Based HIV VCT: South Africa,” the name of the broader umbrella project, the program plans to test how well received the penis-washing regimen is among South African men. If most of the men in the study wash their genitals after sex, are willing to do so after the study ends, and report that their partners accept the regimen, the researchers will develop another study to see if the “penile cleansing procedure” actually works to prevent HIV infections.

“If we find that men are able to practice consistent washing practices after sex, we will plan to test whether this might protect men from becoming HIV infected in a later study,” the grant says.

The study’s lead investigator Dr. Thomas J. Coates  was the fourth highest-funded researcher in the country in 2002 and is currently conducting HIV research on three continents.

CNSNews.com asked both Coates and NIMH the following question: “The Census Bureau says the median household income in the United States is $52,000. How would you explain to the average American mom and dad -- who make $52,000 per year -- that taxing them to pay for this grant was justified?”

Coates, who was unavailable for comment, directed CNSNews.com to ask grant-related questions of his assistant, Darya Freedman, who did respond.

The NIMH also declined to respond to CNSNews.com’s question.

Comments on News Articles

We all know that with the explosion of internet news sources, the vast majority of outlets allow readers to post comments. I usually don't read them because they're usually libs and that just ticks me off.  But sometimes the "good guys" post and they are right on the money.  They are usually saying what I'm thinking.

One example is that, some time ago there was an article in the local fish-wrap (internet version) about inner city violence, and they quoted a liberal sociology professor (or someone of that ilk) concerning the street violence.  For context, you need to know that he was from Widener University, located in Chester, PA (one of the most dangerous & violent cities on the east coast).  One comment on the article stood out to the point that I saved it to post here:

--These ultra-liberal, pseudo-elitist white professors kill me. They live in their gated, cookie-cutter communities, far detached from the street violence everyday people are subjected to. They whine and squeal about the brutality of the police state. They rant about racial profiling (this guy has even written publications on this issue), and they cry about our civil liberties and rights being violated. All from the safety and sanctuary of their air-conditioned offices and leather chairs, with security guards roaming the university grounds to protect them. Then they go home to their all-white, security-alarmed suburban prisons and pat themselves on the back for being so diverse and politically correct. When's the last time this fraud drove down 4th St. in Wilmington or walked outside the friendly confines of Widener? It's so easy to point fingers when you perch your cowardly rear in an Ivory Tower.

Another example is that there were articles on the 'net this past summer about the Healthy and Hunger-Free Kids Act to be voted on by congress.  First of all, don't you love how the libs couch their handout bills in sympathetic language? Here's a link to the bill sure to cure your insomnia.  The gist of the bill is to increase funding for school lunch programs. Here's a liberal NPR take on the controversy.

Oh yeah, back to my original point.  The local rag here had its version of the article about the bill, and apparently the 10 conservatives in this bluest of blue states decided to comment.  Enjoy!

--When I worked for this state trying to keep track of people who needed tracking, I was always amazed at how many were receiving welfare and had their kids signed up for every hand-out available, yet could manage new rims, sound systems in the trunk, 30 in. gold chains, the latest cell phones and a never ending supply of 40oz. bottles of Ole English and Newports. It is what it is. Lazy people taking advanatage of having kids they have no plans to support properly. They send their kids off to school to be fed and babysat, yet never show their faces at parent/teacher conferences or school activities. They usually show up only if their kid gets suspended to scream and yell at the staff for "picking on their child" and do this only so the kid isn't home with them. If you can insist your kid gets free food, it should be mandatory that you show up at every conference and open house. These kids only learn one lesson out of this..LAZINESS AND ENTITLEMENT.

--Everyone ultimately feels sorry for the kids but what they don't realize is that those kids are going to grow up and be just like good 'ole Mom and Baby Daddy...wherever he might be. These handouts, I mean entitlements, I mean freebies, are the direct result of politicians who believe that the more they give away the better their chances of getting re-elected. November is coming, make a statement because before long there will not be enough of us left to support these ridiculous morons that are leading us to the edge of the cliff. Maybe we'll get a free lunch on our way. Nope, don't qualify.

--By the way, subsidizing food cost at school only increases cost for those who actually pay for their kids. Not only are they paying tax dollars for subsidies, they are paying higher cost because the government is subsidizing, driving up prices.

--Isn't there ANYTHING families need to do for themselves anymore? Like waiting to have kids until they can support them (married???) and then feeding them? We're encouraging generational fecklessness.

--Give me a break, is the government going to start providing them with an Iphone since they can't afford to pay their cell phone bill. It's funny how at these poverty schools how you see the nice cell phones and vehicles, but they can't afford to pay for their kids meal. They don't want to spend their discretionary $$$ on necessities, not the American way, Uncle Sam will take care of you. This country is going down the drain. People don't understand, the government has to stop giving the fish away and start handing out fishing poles. These people will never want to get off the governments handouts they must be forced off of them and forced to work. The government must learn to be harsh to strengthen our resolve, and quit babying the lazy.

--It's called personal responsibility and living within your means. It's called making smart decisions and sacrificing un-essential material goods. What do they do with their WIC and Food Stamps monthly stipend? "I can't afford to feed my children," says the manicured parent with diamond-studded earrings as she talks into her iPhone or Blackberry, hanging out of her $40,000 SUV with those 25" chrome rims that cost $1100 each. While the working taxppayers in this country foot the bill for my kids, I'm going to go home to my subsidized apartment or townhouse, put my feet up and watch Oprah on my 52" HDTV. What? Me work? Why should I? The "guvment" gives me everything I need. This is generational. When will you people face the truth? The more you give, the more they take and the less incentive and initiative there is to support themselves and their children. If a parent can't afford a few dollars a day for breakfast and lunch, then they are the problem. The taxpayer is not the solution.

--If you can't afford kids - feed, bathe, and clothe them - then don't have them. Its a huge commitment that everybody else ends up paying for one reason or another. Other people's children are not our responsibility - to feed, bathe, and clothe - but rather they are the responsibility of the parents who gave them life.

--Is it that costly to make your kids pb sandwiches? Does it take that much time? Why does government need to assume parental responsibilities?

--You can make two weeks worth of peanut butter sandwiches for less than a pack of Kools. Go drive through our "poor" areas and check out the Dish TVs, cell phones and fat people. The pit bulls seem to get fed! The city collects trash twice a week per household and they still throw fast food trash on the street. This is crap, and everybody knows it. Lazy bums sucking on the teet of working people. Disgusting.

--I don't know, maybe.....STOP HAVING KIDS THAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD. IF YOU CAN"T SUPPORT YOURSELF THEN YOU CAN'T SUPPORT 8 FATHERLESS CHILDREN. Those eight fatherless children will each follow in the same footsteps and have 8 fatherless children themselves, the problem is multiplying at rates the working taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize. You should be punished for bringing lives into the world that you can't support, not rewarded.

More on the Victory Mosque

There are two articles that really say alot for me.  Is it surprising that people think Islam is a fraud? Check them out:

Muslims Know Mosque is a Provocation

Hamas Nod for Ground Zero Mosque.

I also came across this 3rd article that, if true, provides good context to their desire to build the victory mosque. Here's the link, but I've printed it in full.

Islam center's eerie echo of ancient terror

Should there be a mosque near Ground Zero? In fact, what is pro posed is not a mosque -- nor even an "Islamic cultural center."

In Islam, every structure linked to the faith and its rituals has a precise function and character. A mosque is a one-story gallery built around an atrium with a mihrab (a niche pointing to Mecca) and one, or in the case of Shiites two, minarets.

Other Islamic structures, such as harams, zawiyyahs, husseinyiahs and takiyahs, also obey strict architectural rules. Yet the building used for spreading the faith is known as Dar al-Tabligh, or House of Proselytizing.

This 13-story multifunctional structure couldn't be any of the above.

The groups fighting for the project know this; this is why they sometimes call it an Islamic cultural center. But there is no such thing as an Islamic culture.

Islam is a religion, not a culture. Each of the 57 Muslim-majority nations has its own distinct culture -- and the Bengali culture has little in common with the Nigerian. Then, too, most of those countries have their own cultural offices in the US, especially in New York.

Islam is an ingredient in dozens of cultures, not a culture on its own.

In theory, at least, the culture of American Muslims should be American. Of course, this being America, each ethnic community has its distinct cultural memories -- the Iranians in Los Angeles are different from the Arabs in Dearborn.

In fact, the proposed structure is known in Islamic history as a rabat -- literally a connector. The first rabat appeared at the time of the Prophet.

The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word "raid"). The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.

After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat -- or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided. The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare for future razzias. Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires. After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.

It is no coincidence that Islamists routinely use the term ghazva to describe the 9/11 attacks against New York and Washington. The terrorists who carried out the attack are referred to as ghazis or shahids (martyrs).

Thus, building a rabat close to Ground Zero would be in accordance with a tradition started by the Prophet. To all those who believe and hope that the 9/11 ghazva would lead to the destruction of the American "Great Satan," this would be of great symbolic value.

Faced with the anger of New Yorkers, the promoters of the project have started calling it the Cordoba House, echoing President Obama's assertion that it would be used to propagate "moderate" Islam.

The argument is that Cordoba, in southern Spain, was a city where followers of Islam, Christianity and Judaism lived together in peace and produced literature and philosophy.

In fact, Cordoba's history is full of stories of oppression and massacre, prompted by religious fanaticism. It is true that the Muslim rulers of Cordoba didn't force their Christian and Jewish subjects to accept Islam. However, non-Muslims could keep their faith and enjoy state protection only as dhimmis (bonded ones) by paying a poll tax in a system of religious apartheid.

If whatever peace and harmony that is supposed to have existed in Cordoba were the fruit of "Muslim rule," the subtext is that the United States would enjoy similar peace and harmony under Islamic rule.

A rabat in the heart of Manhattan would be of great symbolic value to those who want a high-profile, "in your face" projection of Islam in the infidel West.

This thirst for visibility is translated into increasingly provocative forms of hijab, notably the niqab (mask) and the burqa. The same quest mobilized hundreds of Muslims in Paris the other day to close a whole street so that they could have a Ramadan prayer in the middle of the rush hour.

One of those taking part in the demonstration told French radio that the aim was to "show we are here." "You used to be in our capitals for centuries," he said. "Now, it is our turn to be in the heart of your cities."

Before deciding whether to support or oppose the "Cordoba" project, New Yorkers should consider what it is that they would be buying.
